Our Managing Director, David, grew up in a small-business family working alongside his father. He went to university to study science then education, and since then, his professional career has been the story of two parts. He started his professional life working in the education sector where he developed a deep understanding of human development and achievement, then moved into the corporate sector where his love of business re-emerged.

Over the last decade and a bit, David has started a number of businesses from scratch, and also worked for small start-ups, and larger corporate organisations in periods of transition or crisis. Through asking “why?”, and relentlessly pursuing excellence, David has been integral to designing and implementing new systems that facilitated staff productivity and accountability, implemented changes that led to business growth and profitability, and lead small and large teams of dedicated staff.

Immediately prior to starting Upvisory, David worked at Cootharinga, a large disability service provider struggling to adapt to the NDIS. David was a key member of the leadership team that brought the organisation out of crisis, with a strong focus on customer service and financial achievement. Through working with key staff, and focusing on quality and supportive systems, he was able to lead his three departments out of a loss making position, through significant growth and a quick return to profitability, and continuous improvement between 2018 and 2021.

David has also been on several community volunteer committees and boards, and been responsible for financial turn-around, and improvement in corporate governance in each leadership role he took on.

Upvisory has grown out of the values and ethos David has in business.
